It was the 23rd triple-double of the season for Jokic, who continued to bolster his MVP credentials. He has been unstoppable lately, recording a triple-double in 14 of his past 19 games.

Nuggets coach, Michael Malone paid tribute to his star player, saying:

“If you’re looking for a great player that impacts winning in every possible way, whose team is first place in the Western Conference, he’s your man.”

Malone added that he knows Jokic is the MVP, saying his teammates, the Denver fans and those back home in Serbia know it as well.

The Serb got help from his teammates, with three other Denver players scoring in double-figures.

Michael Porter Jr. registered a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Jamal Murray and Bruce Brown chipped in 21 and 13 points respectively.

George thrills with long heave

Jokic’s magical night was nearly spoiled by Paul George, whose long heave at the end of regulation for the win went in. Unfortunately for the Clips, he released his shot attempt just after the buzzer sounded.

Good things happen to Denver when Jokic stuffs the stat sheet.

The Nuggets have won 27 consecutive games when Jokic has a triple-double, including all 23 this season. That 27-0 mark by Denver when Jokic posts a triple-double is the longest streak in NBA history.

Kings spoil Westbrook's debut
