Stephen Curry is set to be reevaluated after the All-Star break. The Golden State Warriors star sustained a leg injury against the Dallas Mavericks and with his team struggling for consistency, his absence will surely be felt.

Curry missed almost a month after sustaining a shoulder injury against the Indiana Pacer on December 14th. He returned on January 11th but suffered a setback a few days ago.

They have struggled to make a run to climb up the standings in a chaotic Western Conference. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games and face two Los Angeles teams in three of their next four games.

Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole have shown they can carry the scoring load. But is that enough? In their latest NBA game, against the Portland Trail Blazers, they scored a combined 69 points but still lost 125-122.

Curry injury update

The team diagnosed Curry with a partial tear to the superior tibiofibular ligaments, the interosseous membrane, and a contusion to his left lower. Still, they did not offer a timeline for his return, per ESPN.

A significant time out with injury will severely affect the team's season. The team now says the 9x All-Star will be reevaluated after the 2023 All-Star break.

The defending NBA champions are 28-27 for the season and sit 9th in the West. Nine teams in the West have either 26, 27, 28 or 29 defeats this season. Things get a little bumpy with teams making big moves on the trade deadline.

Curry debunks load management

Sports Brief earlier reported on Curry explaining the true nature of load management in the NBA. The phenomenon has sparked heated debates among the fan base this season.

The two-time NBA MVP said it is not the player who decides if he wants to play, admitting that it is always the other way around.

Many star players usually miss games when their team is playing on back-to-back nights, many times inconveniencing fans who paid for tickets to come to watch them.
