Warriors fans hold their breath as they wait to learn the extent of Steph Curry's injury
NBAWarriors Fans Excited After Klay Thompson’s Monster 42 Point Display vs OKC Thunder
- Klay Thompson was in his bag against the Oklahoma City Thunder
- He dropped 42 points, knocking down 12 threes to help the Golden State Warriors win 141-114
- The Warriors are playing without Stephen Curry who will be out for several weeks
The Oklahoma City Thunder must be sick at the sight of Klay Thompson. The Golden State Warriors shooting guard was back to haunt them again, hitting 12 threes and scoring 42 to lift his team past the Thunder 141-114.
This is the first game without Stephen Curry who will be out for the next few weeks with a leg injury sustained in their last game. However, they didn't need him against the Thunder.
Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins produced solid performances, scoring a combined 39 points and shooting over 50% from the field. Nevertheless, it was Thompson's night.
The 32-year-old has slowly improved since he returned from two career-threatening injuries last year. He is averaging 21.3 points per game in 42 NBA games this season.

Thompson reacts to great night
Thompson felt the reason he was able to produce a near-perfect performance was that he got great shots.
“I was just hunting great shots. I got a couple great looks early, and I thought they were all in rhythm. I maybe took two bad shots tonight, so it was a great night shooting the ball,” via NBC Sports.
The four-time NBA champion now has eight games with at least ten 3-pointers. The only player with more is, you guessed it, his 'Splash Brother' Stephen Curry.
'Game 6 Klay' was born when the sharpshooter stunned the Thunder in the 2016 Western Conference Finals, dropping 41 points, and draining 11 3-pointers to help the Warriors stave off elimination and proceed to the NBA Finals.

Curry injury struggles
Sports Brief earlier reported that Curry would likely miss the 2023 NBA All-Star due to an injury sustained recently against the Dallas Mavericks.
The two-time MVP is expected to be out through the All-Star break in mid-February because of the left leg injury.
The good news for the Warriors is that Curry’s injury is not season-ending.
Even though there is no solid timeline yet for his return, Golden State hopes he can be back in action after the NBA All-Star break.
