DeMar DeRozan is the only Bulls player in the 2023 All-Star Game. The Bulls are having a relatively poor season. They have a 25-27 record and sit 9th in the Eastern Conference.
Billy Donovan's team have struggled for consistency this season. They have not won four games in a row this season and are 9-10 against teams under .500. They finished 46-36 last season and decided not to tinker with the roster.

Lavine on the All-Star snub
He said he understood why only DeRozan was selected for this year's event. He reiterated that the goal is to take the team to playoff places, according to SI.
"I think we need to be in a better position for us to have two or three guys in the All-Star game. I think we're sitting 10th right now. That's not good. I think bigger picture, you're not worried about All-Star, you're trying to get your team back in the playoff picture."
Bulls fans were excited about the prospect of Lavine teaming up with Lonzo Ball and DeRozan. However the former has not played an NBA game since January 2022. Donovan said Ball is nowhere near playing, per ESPN.

There were big names missing after the reserves were named. James Harden was arguably the biggest snub. His streak of 10 consecutive selections finally ended as he missed out.
Other snubs include Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young, Toronto Raptors talisman Pascal Siakam and Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler.
As Sports Brief reported, Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon also missed the cut despite an excellent season for the number-one seed in the Western Conference.
