The young Frenchman has been considered the best draft prospect in NBA history, along with LeBron James since he was 16. Barring any unexpected circumstances, Wembanyama will be the No 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

His repertoire of skills is just astonishing for someone his size. He has incredible mobility, can pass the ball and his lateral quickness already makes him a floor-raiser for many NBA teams, per SB Nation.

His flexibility and agility are also amazing. Moreover, his ability to score in many ways makes the hype about him very real. For his size, he will be an amazing rim protector.

He stole the show when he played in Las Vegas against G League Elite guard Scoot Henderson who is expected to go second. In two games he scored 73 points, including 9 threes, drew 28 free throws, and blocked nine shots, per the Athletic.

Durant on Wembanyama

Speaking to NBA TV via ClutchPoints, Durant said he can't wait to see the Frenchman in the NBA.

"I’m impressed with him, I can’t wait to see him in the league, see how everything pans out for him in the league and I’m also looking forward to playing against him as well.”

Durant added that he sees someone who loves the games and constantly gets better.

“Man, I just see a talented, enthusiastic player that just looks like he loves the game. You know those guys that just love to play and it looks like he got so much better over the last couple years and that’s just from the work that you put in."

There's a possibility the Brooklyn Nets superstar will play against him when he gets drafted next year. Wembanyama has already demonstrated that he belongs among the elite stars in the NBA.

Durant names his influences

Sports Brief earlier reported on Durant naming three players who have influenced his game as a player.

He says LA Lakers icon, the late great Kobe Bryant, along with LeBron James and Tracy McGrady as the players who've inspired him.

He reiterated that McGrady stood out for him as he borrowed some m0oves from the former NBA scoring champion.
