As noted by Give Me Sport, Chandler, referring to himself as Mystic Mike, predicted that he would finish the Irishman in round two. Chandler added that he would have his way with McGregor, put a beating on him, and submit him in round two.

Mystic Mike?

Chandler's Mystic Mike moniker is a direct jab at McGregor. The Irishman used to refer to himself as Mystic Mac and he would make predictions about his upcoming fights.

How did McGregor respond?

The former double champion is no stranger to mind games but didn't give Chandler any satisfaction with regard to his predictions. He shared some of Chandler's quotes to his Twitter timeline, only adding a laughing emoji to them.

Why are they fighting?

UFC confirmed that both McGregor and Chandler would serve as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter this year. They would then fight each after at the end of the season. The Ultimate Fighter is a reality show which sees professional MMA fighters live and train together as they compete for a UFC contract.

The participants fight against each other during the show, with losers being eliminated from the competition. They're also coached by two UFC fighters who will also fight each other.

When could the fight happen?

Chandler and McGregor are only expected to fight much later this year. McGregor has to be part of the United States Anti-Doping Agency's (USADA) testing pool for six months and produce two negative tests before he's allowed to fight. As of February 4, McGregor has still not enrolled himself into the testing pool.

Chandler's previous call out

Chandler has been begging for a fight with The Notorious for a long while now and will finally get his wish. He previously called out the Irishman in May 2022, saying that he wanted him at his biggest, baddest and best.
