Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has reunited with old pal and former Villareal teammate Santi Carzola in Qatar.

Wakaso has been longtime friends with the Spanish midfielder, with both players playing together in La Liga for Villareal in the early days of the Ghanaian's career.

In a photo posted on social media, an excited Wakaso is seen having a chat with Carzola, who had just finished training with his Al Sadd teammates.

Wakaso and Carzola shared the pitch together in the jerseys of the Yellow Submarines in 2011, before the former Spain midfielder left for Malaga.

Santi Carzola is revered at Villareal, having had three spells with the club while Wakaso's one senior season at the club showcased him to Spanish football.

Mubarak Wakaso is currently on the books of Chinese club Shenzen FC.

Mubarak Wakaso shows Andre Ayew support after watching Al Sadd's league opener

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mubarak Wakaso travelled to Qatar to show Black Stars captain and close pal Andre Ayew support during the Stars League opener.

The 31-year-old was in the stands at the Khalifa International stadium as Al Sadd suffered defeat to Markhiya.

In a photos posted on social media, Wakaso, in the company of a beautiful female friend looked excited as they backed Ayew in his first game of the season.

Mubarak Wakaso comes to the aid of physically-challenged journalist

Black Stars midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso, has come to the aid of disabled Ghanaian football commentator, Johnson Antwi, after supporting him with an electronic wheelchair.

The story of Johnson Antwi, a crippled commentator was brought to light by Tv3 during the Super Two clash between Hearts and Kotoko in June.

In photos posted by Tv3 on Twitter, management of the station presented the items and the cash from Mubarak Wakaso to Johnson Antwi.
