Players of the Super Falcons of Nigeria have been spotted dancing in joyous mood after beating Cameroon 1-0 on Thursday night, 14 July, in the quarterfinal of the 2022 AWCON in Morocco.

Nigerian players went into this encounter with great determination knowing fully well that winning the tie will give them the 2023 World Cup ticket.

And they did themselves lots of good by winning the encounter as Atlético de Madrid star Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal that gave the Super Falcons the win over Cameroon.

When did she score against Cameroon?

There was no goal scored in the first half of the quarterfinal encounter, but Rasheedat Ajibade netted for Nigeria in the 56th minute and that was how the match ended 1-0.

According to the video posted on Twitter by CAF, the Nigerian players were so happy after the match against Cameroon.

Sports Brief also spoke with the Media Officer of the Super Falcons Tobex who confirmed that all the players are okay going into the next match against Morocco.

''I must say the girls gave all for the match and we are glad that we won most especially the fact that we have qualified for the World Cup.

President Muhammadu Buhari applauds Super Falcons over qualification for 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria for qualifying for the 2023 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The Nigerian ladies put up a resolute performance to defeat Cameroon 1-0 to pick up one of the four automatic tickets to the global showpiece next year.

Rashidat Ajibade's header in the 55th minute was enough for the Nigerians to defeat their opponents 1-0 to also keep their la decima hopes alive.

It was a hard-fought win for the Nigerian ladies after their bitter rivals took the game to them, but they managed to win.
