Nigerian Star Striker Slams Ghana's Reception of Super Eagles in Kumasi

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has criticised Ghana for the treatment the Super Eagles received prior to the first leg of their World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Ghana and Nigeria will have another 90 minutes to decide which team qualifies for the World Cup after a pulsating goalless draw in the first leg of the play-offs in Kumasi.

Augustine Eguavoen and his men departed from Nigeria to Ghana on Thursday, March 24 ahead of the first leg was held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

And upon their arrival at the host country, a make-shift ladder was spotted by the plane as the Super Eagles players managed to disembark, which Napoli striker, Osimhen, complained about.

"The experience in Ghana is a bit understandable due to the African thing but it was surprising when we landed and we had to jump down and some of us carried big hand luggage which was quite stressful for us," Osimhen told Elegbete TV as quoted by Soccernetng.
"When I first saw it it was really funny but at the end of the day it was a good experience.

Osimhen also detailed the Super Eagles' journey to the Stadium on Matchday, stating that the Ghanaian fans were hitting their bus and making signs at them.

"From our hotel to the stadium is about 25-30 minutes so on getting there there was a huge Ghanaian crowd, screaming at us, hitting our bus, and made signs," Osimhen explained.
"We were in the traffic for like up to 45 minutes before we got to the dressing room and when we got to the dressing room, it wasn't up to 20 minutes, then Yobo came to us we had to go out.

In an enthralling fixture between the two sworn rivals, the Black Stars and the Super Eagles proved inseparable as they played out a goalless draw.

Drama As Super Eagles Players ‘Jump Off’ Plane After Landing in Kumasi

Sports Brief earlier reported that There was drama the moment the Super Eagles landed in Kumasi ahead of their first-leg World Cup play-offs against the Black Stars as the Nigerian players hopped off the plane.

Ghana host Nigeria on Friday night at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and the reverse fixture is billed to hold at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Nigeria contingent departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard a chartered Air Peace aircraft on Thursday morning.
