Daniel Akpeyi has warned the Black Stars of Ghana claiming that their better record against Nigeria will be of no importance when the two nations meet in World Cup play-off.

These two West African nations will go head to head in serious fight for the ticket to represent the continent at the 2022 FIFA World Cup coming up in Qatar.

In history, the Super Eagles and the Black Stars have met 56 times with Ghana having 25 wins, while Nigeria recorded 12 victories as remaining 19 games ended in draws.

Ghana will be at home in the first leg against Nigeria on Friday, 25 March, and they will hope they get good result against the Super Eagles ahead of the return leg.

According to the report on GOAL, Daniel Akpeyi who could be in goal for Nigeria explained that the important thing is for the Super Eagles to get the World Cup ticket.

Blow for Ghana as important midfielder set to miss Nigeria clash due to injury

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Ghana international Edmund Addo is set to miss the crucial World Cup play-off against Nigeria later this week.

The Black Stars will face the Super Eagles in a gigantic encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday with the second leg of the play-offs set to be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on March 29th.

Ahead of the game, footballghana has reported that FC Sheriff Tiraspol's midfielder, Addo, has been ruled out of the gigantic clash after he sustained an injury during his side's league game against Sfintul Gheorghe in Moldova's top-tier league.

Addo landed at the Black Stars camp on Monday and underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to examine the extent of the iinjury under the supervision of the Ghana medical staff.
