Watch Sevilla Goalkeeper Fight Back After Getting Attacked by Fan in Europa League Game Against PSV

Sevilla goalkeeper, Marko Dmitrovic had to restrain a pitch invader after the fan tried to attack him in a dramatic finish to the Europa League clash against PSV Eindhoven.

The ugly incident took place near the end of a dramatic second leg, with the Dutch side defeating the Spanish side but still failing to progress to the Round of 16.

According to the BBC, Dmitrovic was approached by a PSV fan who threw a punch before being wrestled to the ground by the Serbian keeper.

The aggrieved fan was later taken away by stewards, with Dmitrovic now calling on UEFA to 'intervene' to prevent these kinds of incidences from reoccurring.

The Sevilla keeper also called for serious punishments to be meted out to those found guilty, which he feels will be a deterrent for future occurrences in football matches.

Sevilla progress to last 16

Meanwhile, Sevilla progressed to the Europa League round of 16 despite suffering a 2-0 defeat against Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night, Daily Mail reports.

The Spanish side headed into the game with a 3-0 lead from the first leg but were given a scare after Luuk de Jong opened the scoring against his former side.

Despite a late Fabio Silva second goal that gave PSV a 2-0 win on the night, Jorge Sampaoli's side held on to reach the last 16 on aggregate score.

Sevilla’s woeful UCL performances criticised

Sports Brief also reported on Sevilla not catching a break, carrying a poor run of form in La Liga into the Champions League.

Their poor performance against Borussia Dortmund saw the Spanish side three goals down in the first half of the game.

Raphaël Guerreiro opened the scoring for the Germans in the first six minutes before Jude Bellingham made it two.
