In a video posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, Manolas knelt slightly away from the 'king of the jungle' lion as he prepared for his photo shoot.

However, the ex-Roma defender was given a horrific experience when the unprovoked lion roared, scaring the life out of Manolas, who naturally had to abandon the photo shoot.

Wearing the number 14 shirt, he rose to his feet following the lion's roar and stepped out of the zone for the photo shoot.

Manolas becomes Sharjah’s third high-profile signing of the summer, along with ex-Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanić and former Dortmund attacker Paco Alcácer.

Ex-Chelsea cult hero Diego Costa admits he was 'scared to death' while shooting unveiling video with a pack of wolves

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that rather uncharacteristically, Diego Costa has come out to admit that he was 'scared to death' while shooting his announcement video with his new club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Costa made a comeback to the Premier League after he sealed a move to Wolves on a free transfer. The former Chelsea striker has been a free agent since terminating his contract with Brazilian aide Athletico Mineiro.

He was brought in as a stop-gap replacement to Sasa Kalajdzic, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury on his debut.
