Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists club captain Karim Benzema will be crowned the winner of the 2022 Ballon d'Or award.
The Madrid chief appeared remarkably confident that the Frenchman will crown his stunning performance in the year under review by scooping the coveted individual diadem.
Benzema enjoyed an incredibly outstanding campaign, guiding Los Blancos to a record-extending 14th Champions League title while spearheading the club to yet another La Liga crown in style.
He also notched an eyewatering 44 goals in 46 games across all competitions, putting him in pole position to walk in the footsteps of Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of other Madrid legends to have won the Ballon d'Or.

Perez's assertion comes in the wake of a leaked photo declaring Benzema as the winner of the award, which went viral on social media last week.
