Ghana winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, has shared his excitement after starring in Leicester City's English Championship title triumph.

The 20-year-old has instantly become a fan favourite and he is already eyeing his first spell in the English topflight league next season.

"What a day!" he said, as quoted by the club's official website. "It feels so amazing. This is so special. I can’t explain how I’m feeling right now, it’s so amazing. I’m so happy. I love to make the supporters happy because they are here for us. I just try to dance to make it more fun!
"As I always say, it’s a special thing for me. I can’t forget this day. This is something special for me in my career. We thank God for everything."

Issahaku moved to Europe at the age of 17 to join Sporting Lisbon but his struggles to break into the first team saw him make a move to England last summer, as reported by The Athletic.

Leicester triggers Issahaku's buy option

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana winger, Issahaku, will join Leicester City permanently after a successful loan spell with the Premier League returnees.

The 20-year-old has been rewarded with a fresh contract after playing a pivotal role in helping the Foxes win the English Championship and make a quick return to the English topflight.

Leicester City triggered the winger's 17 million euros buy option, which was part of the terms of his loan deal as the English outfit had the right to make the youngster's move permanent.

Issahaku hints at Iheanacho's departure

Sports Brief also reported that Kelechi Iheanacho could leave Leicester City at the end of the season with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2024.

The Super Eagles forward reportedly refused to sign a contract extension as Aston Villa shows interest in him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Iheanacho and his Leicester City teammates gained promotion to the English Premier League after winning the Championship title.
