  • Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Gareth Bale will always be a special player to the club despite his fractious relationship with the fans
  • Bale is set to leave the club at the end of the season after nine years which has been marked by extreme highs and extreme lows
  • The Welshman will leave as one of the most successful Real Madrid players ever with fifteen trophies across all competitions

Carlo Ancelloti has rallied Real Madrid fans to give Gareth Bale a befitting send-off. Bale will be leaving the club at the end of the season on a free transfer.

The Welshman has enjoyed a highly successful but tumultuous period during his nine-year stay at Real Madrid. He has won four Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies with the Spanish giants.

Many will remember his heroic performance in 2018 final when he came off the bench to help Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final. He did so with spectacular goals, one an overhead kick and the other one, an effort from way out.

Real Madrid have already won the La Liga title this season. They play their last match against Real Betis on Friday before they shift their focus to the Champions League final against Liverpool.

Goal.com now reports that Ancelloti wants Madrid fans to honour Bale in his last home game for the Los Blancos.

It's not important if he plays, what's important is Bale is a part of the history of this club.
He'll always be in the memories of Real Madrid fans. He has written some great chapters, we have to recognise that.

Bale was signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013. He has gone on to record over 250 appearances for Real Madrid and scored over 100 goals.

He has, however, been constantly booed by the Santiago Bernabeu faithful as his attitude and commitment to the club remain shaky. He was shipped back to Spurs on loan last season.

The 32-year-old once held a banner implying that Real Madrid comes last in his list of priorities.

Bale is yet to decide on his future. His agent Jonathan Barnett recently said that Wales' qualification for the FIFA World Cup will have a huge impact on whether or not he continues playing.

The former Spurs man is the captain of the Wales national team. They are set to play against either Scotland or Ukraine in the European playoffs.

Kevin De Bruyne picks Eden Hazard over David Silva

Sports Brief earlier reported that star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne explained that he will choose Eden Hazard over David Silva.

De Bruyne was put on the spot to choose between who of the two great players he’d rather have.

He played with David Silva for over four seasons at Manchester City, forming a wonderful midfield partnership. He has also played, and continues to play, with Eden Hazard at the international level in Belgium colours.
