Carlo Ancelotti has opened up on his picture of him smoking a cigarette during Real Madrid's La Liga title celebrations.
Ancelotti, who is in his second stint with Real Madrid, led the White Angels to league success over the weekend when they thrashed Espanyol 4-0 to wrap up their 35th La Liga crown.
Following his side's success over the weekend, Ancelotti and his players basked in uncontrolled joy and celebrations.
He was captured in a photo with Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, David Alaba and Rodrygo Goes with the experienced trainer smoking a big brown cigarette, with the photograph going viral.
Explaining why he posed with the cigarette, Ancelotti confirmed he does not smoke but rather his holding the cigarette was only for the picture but not a sign of his lifestyle.
“No, I don’t smoke cigars! It was only a photo with my friends. Yes, these players are my friends,” the veteran Italian said as quoted by Football Espana.
His feat over the weekend etched his name in European football folklore becoming the first and only manager to have won league trophies across Europe's top five leagues - England, Italy, Germany, France and now Spain.
He also became the manager with the most UEFA Champions League final appearance after his side defeated Manchester City in an epic game last night.
