Footage of a better version of the Modric-esque outside of the boot pass has gone viral on the internet.

On Tuesday night, Luka Modric treated football fans to a gracious moment worth salivating about when the 36-year-old midfielder rolled back the years to whip a classy pass to Rodrygo, which resulted in a goal for Real Madrid.

The Croat's artistic pass was the highlight of Madrid's quarterfinal tie against Champions League holders Chelsea.

But since he unleashed the outrageous pass, there have been many comparisons with Africa's leading scorer at the World Cup, Asamoah Gyan suggesting there was a more difficult outside of the boot pass made by Kwadwo Asamoah eight years ago.

However, Asamoah Gyan and football enthusiasts would have to reconsider their decision when weighing between Modric and Kwadwo Asamoah's trivela.

Apparently, before Modric dropped his assist at the Santiago Bernabeu there was an advanced version of the trivela on a bumpy pitch in Berekuso, a town in the Eastern region of Ghana.

Wearing the No.7 jersey on the field, the unnamed footballer dribbled past his marker before unleashing the outside of the boot pass, which was connected beautifully into the back of the net.

The video which was posted on Twitter after Madrid's match against Chelsea, has since gone viral.

Asamoah Gyan compares Modric's trivela assist to Kwadwo Asamoah's 2014 outside of the boot pass

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana's leading all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has made a comparison between Luka Modric's delicious assist in Real Madrid's quarterfinal encounter against Chelsea to Kwadwo Asamoah's similar effort in 2014.

Asamoah Gyan drew the comparison between the two following Modric's masterclass which has left the football world drooling over his technique.

Modric used the outside of his right boot to hit an almost 30-yard pass onto the feet of Rodrygo, who guided the ball into the net. His jaw-dropping pass caught the Chelsea defence ball watching
