The NBA superstar made the claims about Mbappe while discussing the upcoming World Cup final. While he couldn’t pick a winner of the game, he did admit that it would be a great one.

"It’s going to be a great one, and look forward to seeing, you know, two of the greatest who have ever played that sport go at it. It’ll be fun," he said.

Mbappe’s impressive career

Despite being only 23, Mbappe has enjoyed an impressive career thus far. The PSG star is already a World Cup winner and is a five-time French champion. He’s also a UEFA Nations League winner and a one-time French player of the year winner.

As noted by Transfermarkt, he's played 302 games at club level, scoring 222 goals and notching up 111 assists. For France, he has played 65 games and scored 33 goals.

However, not many would consider him one of the greatest to ever play the game just yet.

NBA superstar LeBron James shares view ahead of World Cup final
