  • Paris Saint Germain is looking to offload Neymar as they seek to balance their books after giving Kylian Mbappe a mega deal to convince him to extend his contract
  • Neymar, who joined PSG in 2017, has in the past tried to force his move out of the club but changed his mind by signing a contract extension to 2025
  • Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea will be the likeliest destinations for the Brazilian international

Paris Saint Germain will listen to offers for Neymar Jr this summer. The French giants are said to be willing to let the Brazilian leave after Kylian Mbappe signed a new contract.

Mbappe finally brought to an end the circus surrounding his future club by agreeing to a new deal with PSG. The prolific attacker had been widely expected to join Real Madrid but chose to extend his stay in Paris.

The Sun reports that the decision to offload Neymar has come directly from its owners in Qatar. Finding a suitor for the talented forward won't be easy, though, given the nature of his wage demands.

Neymar recently signed a new deal with PSG that will see him remain in the French capital until 2025. He had before that attempted to force a move back to Barcelona.

He was signed in 2017 with the sole ambition of helping PSG win the Champions League title. However, the best the club has come to winning the 'Big Ears' trophy was in 2020 when they lost to Bayern Munich in the final.

The 30-year-old has hit 100 goals for PSG in all competitions in 144 appearances. He has also laid on 60 assists for the club.

Which clubs could Neymar join?

The Daily Express thinks that Barcelona could attempt to sign their former striker. Xavi Hernandez is rebuilding the squad after Lionel Messi's departure and could be intrigued to make Neymar the focal part of his team.

Manchester City and Chelsea are the other teams with the wherewithal to pay Neymar's wages. However, it will be highly unlikely for him to join the former, given that City have already signed Erling Haaland.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have to wait for the official word that Todd Boehly's consortium will take over as future owners. The arrival of Boehly can maintain Chelsea's status quo as a big player in the transfer market.

Angel Di Maria bids PSG an emotional farewell

Sports Brief had previously reported that Angel Di Maria gave PSG a glimpse of what they would be missing after he staged a masterclass in his final game for the club.

The winger set up two of PSG's four goals against Metz on Saturday, May 21, before he scored his own in the latter stages of the match.

Di Maria's goal was greeted with huge applause at the Parc des Princes, with the fans' reaction leaving the Argentine emotional. He is set to leave this summer with Juventus, his likely destination.
