The teams contesting the final, their supporters and neutrals will hope for no mishaps this time around regarding the 42-year-old Sikazwe in such a crucial encounter. As reported by Pulse Nigeria, he became the subject of global controversy and derision in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations encounter between Mali and Tunisia.

He inexplicably ended the match in the 85th minute with the Malians leading the Tunisians 1-0. Realising his error but exacerbating it, he restarted the match, allowing it to go on until the 89th minute before ending it.

According to IOL, he explained away the craziness as him having suffered from heatstroke, which led to his confusion. None of this affected his standings with CAF, which included him as one of its match follows who will do duty at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
