Orlando Pirates co-coach, Mandla Ncikazi, does not think that the Buccaneers deserved to lose their CAF Confederation Cup game to Simba SC.

Simba beat Pirates by a single goal, courtesy of a Shomari Kapombe penalty.

Simba won the penalty after former Orlando Pirates player Bernard Morrison was tackled in the box by Happy Jele, SuperSport.com reported.

Jele and the rest of the Pirates side were unhappy with the decision, and Ncikazi was even shown a yellow card for complaining to the officials. Ncikazi’s frustration didn’t end there, though.

During the press conference after the game, Ncikazi blamed the aggressive treatment they received in Tanzania and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), KickOff reported. He stated that he didn’t think Pirates deserved to lose before commenting on the treatment they received in Tanzania.

"As Africans let's change this mentality when teams come to Tanzania you are so hostile to them that you treat them like animals.
"So inhuman, everywhere we go, you are treated so badly and this is a game of sport that should unite us.

He then turned his attention to the VAR, claiming that Pirates should have been awarded a penalty before Simba were.

"Secondly, before Simba were awarded a penalty, we should have been awarded a penalty but it was not given. The referee does not even have the decency to go and check VAR. All of a sudden VAR was switched off."

Ncikazi would continue to complain about the treatment and the referees and pick on the media. He claimed that they would go on to write lies about how Simba SC deserved to win the game.

CAF Confederation Cup: Simba SC sink Orlando Pirates, win 1:0 thanks to a contentious penalty decision

Simba SC have one foot in the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup after they beat Orlando Pirates at home, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Simba took the lead in the second half after a contentious penalty decision. Ironically, a former Orlando Pirates player, Bernard Morrison, won the penalty for the home team after Happy Jele tackled him.

Jele claimed he got the ball, but the referee pointed at the spot. Morrison, funnily enough, got up after the tackle and looked at the referee but collapsed again in pain after seeing that he had won the penalty.
