  • Brazil's Neymar announced his return from injury in style against South Korea
  • Neymar doubled the lead for the Selecao from the penalty spot in the 13th minute
  • The PSG ace made his way over to colleague Alex Telles shortly after he scored

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr has dedicated his World Cup goal against South Korea to injured Man United ace, Alex Telles.

Neymar was part of Brazil's starting XI as the South Americans demolished South Korea on Monday night, December 5, in their round of 16 tie.

The match ended 4-1 in favour of Tite's men, with Neymar - who has been out injured - getting his name on the score sheet.

Richarlison made it 3-0 before the half-hour mark, with Lucas Paqueta putting the game beyond South Korea's reach in the 36th minute.

Neymar dedicates goal to Telles

Neymar has now declared that his first goal of the 2022 World Cup belongs to Alex Telles.

Telles did not make the Brazil team in the knockout fixture, with the left-back currently nursing an injury he picked up in the group stages.

The United star is understood to have injured his knee and stands no chance of featuring for Selecao for the remainder of the tournament.

Rather than revelling in the moment after he had scored however, Neymar made his way over to pay tribute to the injured Telles, who was watching on from the sidelines.

Brazil pay tribute to Pele

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Brazil's World cup round of 16 encounter with South Korea being an emotional affair for Tite's men.

The tie ended in a 4-1 win for the Selecao to set up a crunch quarter-final meeting with Croatia, who saw off Japan in the other last-16 fixture.

The South Americans used the occasion to send their best wishes to football icon Pele, who is currently hospitalised.
