He was one of the best performers for the Red Devils, with his skills a constant menace for Sheriff's backline. It was his first senior debut and he made a good account of himself.

At full-time, as MEN reports, Ronaldo hugged him and seemingly shared a few words of encouragement. Garnacho has in the past mentioned that Ronaldo is his football idol.

The 18-year-old will now be pushing for more minutes under ten Hag, especially with Jadon Sancho's dwindling fortunes. He will be hoping to feature against West Ham United on Sunday.

Old Trafford erupts after Cristiano Ronaldo scores on his return

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo was back in his best form as he found the back of the net during Man United's Europa League clash against Sheriff on Thursday night.

The veteran striker was recently banished from the first team by United boss Erik ten Hag after it emerged that he had left the pitch before the full-time whistle. The incident happened during the Red Devils' League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, October 19.

At the time, Ronaldo had been left on the bench, and there were no signs of him featuring in the encounter.
