While Ronaldo is yet to have his football future sorted, he has continued to put in the hard work with the hope of making Erik ten Hag's starting team for the next match.

According to The Sun, the 37-year-old had to settle for a place on the bench during United's Premier League opener against Brighton, with Ten Hag citing fitness issues for the decision.

However, Ronaldo looks to be closing in to full fitness going by photos shared by United from a recent training session.

In one of the snaps shared by the Red Devils, the Portuguese talisman can be seen out-running his younger teammates.

This comes just days after Ten Hag revealed that he was confident Ronaldo's fitness levels will improve.

United, meanwhile, will be hoping to return to winning ways when they take on Brentford, having lost their season opener to Brighton at Old Trafford.

Javier Hernandez is ready to play for his former club for free

Sports Brief had earlier reported that former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has offered to play for free for his former club as their poor transfer season continues.

Manchester United was set for a major transfer spree this summer after a lethargic season that saw them record their lowest-ever tally in history. New boss Erik ten Hag was supposed to spearhead the summer activity.

However, the club has only brought in Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez. The striking department remains a major concern, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo's future still uncertain.
