Popular pundit and Manchester United legend Gary Neville has asked the club's fans to support Erik ten Hag's decision to maintain Harry Maguire as the captain.
The new manager confirmed on Monday morning that he had no intention of changing Maguire, who has been under fire from fans.
The former Leicester City man has had questionable defensive performances for the Red Devils. Reports had been rife that one of Ten Hag's first priorities will be to get a new captain, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes being touted as possible replacements.

But Ten Hag, who is currently with the United squad in Bangkok, Thailand, for the preseason tour, confirmed that Maguire will remain as captain, as Daily Mail reports.

The news did not go down well with a majority of United supporters. Gary Neville was on the receiving end of the fans' backlash on Twitter after he supported Ten Hag's decision.
