Mamelodi Sundowns vs Summerfield Dynamos

Mamelodi Sundowns booked their place in the last eight thanks to a comprehensive 6-0 win over Richards Bay FC. Many expected Masandawana to reach double figures during the but they often lacked that killer instinct. Summerfield Dynamos have impressed in their debut Nedbank Cup outing, punching above their weight. The team, which competes in the ABC Motsepe League, beat fellow ABC Motsepe League side, Black Eagles in the round of 16. Ironically, coach Clinton Larsen, mentioned that the last team he wanted to face next was Mamelodi Sundowns.

Royal AM vs University of Pretoria

Royal AM are another side punching above their weight during the season. Currently second in the DStv Premiership, MaMkhize’s side are looking to prove that they deserve to be considered a real force. Royal AM beat fellow Premier Soccer League side, Swallows FC, to qualify for the last eight. The University of Pretoria are no pushovers themselves and previously made it to the final of the tournament. AmaTuks beat Venda on penalties in their round of 16 clash.

Marumo Gallants vs Baroka FC

Defending champions, Marumo Gallants will host Baroka FC in an all DStv Premiership clash. Marumo Gallants and Baroka FC share the same stadium, so neither side will have a home ground advantage. Marumo Gallants knocked out Orlando Pirates while Barok FC beat TS Galaxy in the round of 16.

Supersport United vs TTM

SuperSport United will be looking to claim their fourth Nedbank Cup trophy when they take on TTM. SuperSport United beat Platinum City Rovers to book their place in the last eight, while TTM overcame Sinenkani.

Nedbank Cup match report: Royal AM edges Swallows Football Club in a tight encounter in Soweto

Royal AM are through to the quarterfinals of the 2022 Nedbank Cup. This is after they had to fight off Swallows Football Club in a 1-0 win at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. The strike came from a well-worked goal by Kabelo Mahlasela in the 79th minute of the match.

Swallows FC should have had a goal but missed a golden chance. Captain, Lebogang Mokoena, missed a straightforward penalty with one of the worst penalty misses seen this season thus far, Sports Brief earlier reported.

The encounter was a tight one with little to separate both teams throughout. Chances were at a premium, though both teams could not be faulted for showing enterprise in their quest for the trophy.
