Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs Keagan Dolly midfielder received in-season accolades without the usual fanfare at the club's Naturena home base in southern Johannesburg.

Dolly was named as the DStv Premiership Player of the Month for October/November after a fine run of performances then. He also received the Goal of the Month for his cracking strike in a convincing 4-0 win against Maritzburg United.

The moment was revealed on Kaizer Chiefs' Twitter account through a video in which Dolly was congratulated by temporary coach Arthur Zwane and club sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. He'd have received the awards at an event usually held at the Premier Soccer League's headquarters in Parktown, but because of Covid-19 protocols, Chiefs' training grounds had to do.

Dolly said:

"The goal against Chippa United was my first open-play goal for the team, which made it something special. What makes it even more special is that the supporters voted for me. We're always working hard to make them proud. To see them standing behind us is always something special.
"We just want to ask them to continue supporting us. We know that it's difficult and we are missing them, and hopefully they can come back soon. Amakhosi for life! Thank you so much."

Sensational Mfundo Vilakazi catches Mzansi's attention with electrifying displays

While Kaizer Chiefs player Keagan Dolly was in fine form for the senior team, a junior from the club was making the headlines elsewhere in different colours.

Doornkop Student's Mfundo Vilakazi left opponents in his wake as he helped his team reach the semifinals of a hotly contested Philly's Games tournament in Midrand.

As reported on Sports Brief, many viewers clamoured for PSL teams to sign the sensational Vilakazi, even though he is on the Amakhosi's books at U15 and U17 level.
