"I’m not so happy with the behavior from Sali in the moment because we have spoken about this before the game that he doesn’t need to make the final tackle", Hasenhuttl said post-match.

The 22-year-old was shown a second yellow card for chopping down fast Spurs forward Son Heung-Min, who beat the Ghanaian with pace to put himself in the penalty box in the 39th minute.

Before conceding that penalty, Mo Salisu had been yellow-carded for clattering into Brazilian right back Emerson, challenging for an air ball in the 27th minute.

The former Real Valladolid defender's foul on the South Korean saw Harry Kane convert from the spot-kick to draw Conte's men level after Saints captain, James Ward-Prowse's 25 minute belter of an opener which came from a Mo Salisu throwing.

Even though he was on the pitch for only 39 minutes, Mo Salisu won two duels and made eight ball recoveries before being sent off according to football app, FotMob.

Mohammed Salisu, who has been outstanding for Southampton in the Premier League this season, playing 20 games across all competitions for the Saints, will miss the game against Newcastle United on January 2, 2022 because of the red card.

The 22-year-old, whose performances this season has seen him named in the EPL team of the week on more than one occasion, declined another call-up to the Ghana Black Stars as coach Milovan Rajevac named his squad for next month's AFCON.
