Four times African champions, Ghana, finished third in the just ended Kirin Cup tournament in Japan.

The Black Stars beat Chile on penalties on Tuesday morning to walk home with an amount of $50,000.

In photos posted on social media, spotted by Sports Brief, Ghana were presented a cheque of $50,000 after the game.

Midfielders Mohammed Kudus and Fatawu Issahaku, who both scored in the shootouts, received the cheque on behalf of the playing body.

Ghana had lost their opening game against Japan 4-1, and had to redeem themselves by beating the South Americans.

After pulsating 90 minutes of football, the game had to be settled on penalties, with Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus and Fatawu Issahaku all converting their spot kicks.

Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen saved two spot kicks as Ghana defeated Chile.
