Portuguese top-flight outfit Vitória Sport Clube have confirmed that highly-rated central defender Abdul Mumin Suleman has been invited by the Black Stars ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 23-year-old defender, who has had a stand-out season in the Portuguese elite division, has been included in the squad to feature in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers doubleheader next month.

In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, Vitória confirmed his call-up ahead of next month's qualifiers.

Mumin was part of Ghana's 2021 AFCON squad that failed to progress from the group stages of the tournament and was also part of the team that edged Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.

Ghana faces Madagascar on June 1 before travelling to play the Central African Republic in three days' time.

Meanwhile, Spanish lower-tier FC Cartagena confirmed that ex-Asante Kotoko striker Dauda Mohammed has received a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars will commence their qualification for the biennial continental competition with a home game against Madagascar before heading to the Central Africa Republic for its second group game.

In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, FC Cartagena announced the 22-year-old Anderlecht loanee had received a call-up for next month's qualifiers.

Abdul Mumin appears on the radar of Ligue 1 sides Monaco and Lille

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars defender Abdul Mumin Suleman is attracting interest from former French league champions AS Monaco and Lille.

The 23-year-old is reportedly on the radar of the French giants, who are ready to price him away from the Portuguese side Vitória Sport Clube.

According to Portuguese news portal A Bola, the Ghanaian defender valued at 6 million Euros could leave in the transfer window to join either Monaco or Lille.
