Asamoah Gyan has confirmed that teammate Sulley Muntari was engaged in a brawl with one of the management members of the Black Stars during the World Cup in Brazil 2014.

The Black Stars team were embroiled in controversy at the tournament with the players threatening to boycott their final game over unpaid appearance fees.

Government had to fly $3 million to prevent the players from carrying on with their plans but before the money arrived the Black Stars camp was shrouded in controversy.

"This was not how the silent protest was supposed to end," Gyan revealed in his book as quoted by GHANASoccernet.com.

"I went to Sulley Muntari's room to find out what happened. He told me he was trying to explain something to the management member and it turned out into a heated argument," he started.

"The heated argument led to the management member throwing a blow at Muntari, and he retaliated by fighting back. He showed me the bruise along with the dab of blood, that he sustained from the incident."

Muntari was joined Kevin-Prince Boateng as players sacked from camp during the tournament.

Ghana were eliminated at the group stages following defeats to United States and Portugal and a draw against eventual champions Germany.
