Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has sent an invitation for ex-President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, ahead of the launch of his book.
Asamoah Gyan will unveil his maiden memoir on April 30, 2022 in Accra as he willingly opens up on his life, career and businesses.
In a photo posted on Twitter, the 36-year-old was full of smiles as he met the former head of state, as they shared some good moment together.
"Today, I presented Fmr. Pz. John Kuffour’s invitation to him at his residence at Peduase. Thank you Papa for being there for me," Gyan wrote on Twitter.
Asamoah Gyan's relationship with the former Presidents dates back to 2008, when then President Kufuor ordered him back to camp after the striker tried leaving the Black Stars in the middle of CAN 2008 due to criticisms.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor is revered in Ghana and Africa for his astute leadership, during his time in office between 2000 and 2008.
He served the country in two terms.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan is a footballing icon in the West African state, and currently holds the record of being Ghana's all-time leading scorer. He is also Africa's top scorer at the World Cup, with six goals in three tournaments.
