Member of Parliament for the Assin Central in Ghana, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong wants Asamoah Gyan added to the Black Stars team for the World Cup in Qatar.

According to the lawmaker, Asamoah Gyan experience at the World Cup will be invaluable and can also motivate the young ones at the tournament.

The Black Stars of Ghana edged Nigeria to qualify for the global showpiece, having missed the last edition in Russia four years ago.

“He is an old man, he is an old man… but he can motivate the team," he told Happy FM as quoted by Pulse.com.gh.
“His presence alone will make a difference, so when they are going and they send old players along to motivate them, it can be a gamechanger.
“So the role of old players like Asamoah Gyan cannot be discounted, they must be sent to boost the morale of the young ones. But form what I saw from the games against Nigeria, we can go far."

Asamoah Gyan remains Africa's all time leading scorer at the Mundial, with six goals in three World Cup appearances.

The Black Stars all-time leading scorer has been inactive for over a year since leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.

Ghana have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Asamoah Gyan pays courtesy call on Italian ambassador ahead of book launch

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana's all-time leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan, is taking steps to ensure the launch of the memoir is successful after paying a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador.

The former Black Stars captain invited Ambassador Daniela d'Orlandi ahead of the official unveiling of his memoir on April 30, 2022.

Asamoah Gyan spent the formative years of his career in Italy, where he played for Udinese and Modena.
