Captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew was in inspired form as he scored and provided an assist in Al Sadd's emphatic victory over Al Wehdat in the Asian Champions League.

Ayew, who missed the first two games of the competition, led the attack for the Qatari champions as they sought to revive their continental campaign.

Al Sadd broke the deadlock through talisman Akram Afif but Al Wehdat pulled parity and shot into the lead with two quickfire goals just before halftime.

The 32-year-old attacker provided the assist for former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, who grabbed the equalizer for the home side.

It proved to be the catalyst for an inspired fightback as Ayew himself got on the scoresheet after 62 minutes to complete the comeback before goals from Rodrigo Tabata and Mohammed Al Bayati added gloss to the scoreline.

Andre Ayew wins first league crown with Al Sadd

Andre Ayew is finally a Qatari League winner after helping his Al Sadd side cruise past clubs in the top division to retain the title.

The 32-year-old Ghana captain played a key role as the Wolves won the double in a campaign that they have been invincible.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the striker is seen celebrating the moment with his teammates as the trophy was presented after the game against Al Duhail.

Andre Ayew opens up on Luis Suarez's 2014 handball incident

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has disclosed he would have repeated Luis Suarez's handball incident in 2010 if he was in an identical situation for Ghana.

Luis Suarez became Ghana and to a large extent Africa's No.1 enemy when he denied a goal-bound effort in the dying embers of a quarterfinal clash between Ghana and Uruguay at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The former Liverpool and FC Barcelona striker was given his marching for denying an obvious goal but the resulting penalty was missed by the ever-reliable Asamoah Gyan - his first penalty miss after scoring twice from the spot in the same tournament.
