Andre Ayew is finally a Qatari League winner after helping his Al Sadd side cruise past clubs in the top division to retain the title.

The 32-year-old Ghana captain played a key role as the Wolves won the double in a campaign that they have been invincible.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the striker is seen celebrating the moment with his teammates as the trophy was presented after the game against Al Duhail.

Al Sadd wrapped up the league with four games left, after thrashing Al Ahli 8-2 last week. A game the Ghanaian international netted a brace.

On Friday, Al Sadd were held by Al Duhail to a 1-1 draw but that did not stop them from celebrating their success.

Andre Ayew scored 14 goals in 18 matches in the league, and leads the goal scorers chart at Al Sadd.

What Al Sadd players said after the triumph

Algeria forward Baghdad Bounedjah expressed delight in winning the title with Al Sadd.

He said:" “It is not easy to win two league titles without losing in a row.”
“The joy today is indescribable. I was hoping to participate and score, but the season has not ended yet. We still have matches in the Amir Cup and the Champions League. I would like to dedicate the title to my wife, my family and the fans who always stood by us.”
“I am happy at Al Sadd and I will continue with the team, especially as I am on the verge of reaching the World Cup with the Algerian national team, God willing, in Qatar.”

Andre Ayew took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support.

"League champions. Alhamdulilah. Great atmosphere. Thank you," he wrote.

Andre Ayew scores brace in Al Sadd thrashing of Al Ahli

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Andre Ayew scored twice as Qatari giants Al Sadd thumped Al Ahli to wrap up the league title with four games remaining to end the season.

Al Sadd successfully defended their title after winning 17 games and drawing just one and have four matches to play.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief Al Sadd were all in celebratory mood as they enjoy another triumph.
