Chelsea are known big spenders in the transfer market in the days of former owner Roman Abramovich. The Russian is reputable for making high profile and expensive signings for the club to achieve success.
A change of ownership has not seemed to change much about Chelsea spendings as the new ownership group led by Todd Boehly have shown they will also be big spenders but with proper structure to ensure right spendings.
According to Football Transfers, Chelsea spent a record breaking £272m in Boehly's first transfer window, a figure that surpassed any single window under the Russian oligarch's era.

Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana have all had major knee injuries in the past. Fofana, a £70m summer signing has rarely featured and suffered a recurrence of his knee injury this week.

Chelsea won't panic buy in January
Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea won't panic in the winter market despite having Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as the only recognized striker.
The Blues were first reported to want to push Nkunku's transfer to January but with an injury of his own, it makes no sense bringing him to the club early.
Graham Potter will have to compete for the rest of the season with limited options with Chelsea still active in the FA Cup and the Champions League.
