Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta on Wednesday, April 20 engaged in a heated conversation with a supporter at the back of a 4-2 defeat to Arsenal in the London derby.

It was one of those nights for the outgoing European Champions, who did not get going at all as Arsenal comprehensively overcame them at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel Arteta’s side ended a run of three straight defeats in the Premier League to close the gap to Chelsea to five points.

Azpilicueta had his highs and lows in the game as he scored the equaliser for his side to make it 2-2 in the first half, but was also guilty of conceding a contentious penalty late in the game which was converted by Bukayo Saka.

In truth, Chelsea did not play like a team that was at home as they struggled without a sell out crowd due to sanctions imposed on club owner Roman Abramovic.

Despite the small number of Chelsea supporters, one still managed to capture the attention of Azpilicueta.

At the full-time whistle, the supporter was seemingly expressing his disappointment with Azpilicueta and the team’s performance and this did not impress the Spaniard at all.

He marched towards the stands at full time and videos captured him engaging in a heated conversation with the supporter in question.

Azpilicueta seemed irked by something the supporter said, while the supporter tried to plead his innocence after being confronted.

Tuchel was quizzed on the incident and he said he understood the fan’s frustration.

"I saw it. Honestly, I can understand the fan," the German said during his press conference.
