Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was furious with N’Golo Kante during the cause of the Champions League match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, SPORTbible reports.
The centre-back had to clear the danger as Los Blancos almost took advantage of Kante’s mistake to find the back of the net.
English club Chelsea played brilliantly but were unlucky to crash out of the Champions League quarterfinal after a massive performance in Spain.
It took a moment of brilliance from Luka Modric to shatter the hearts of the Blues as they would have won in normal time and then Karim Benzema did usually does and scored the crucial winner in extra time.
It was a herculean task for Chelsea to overturn the 3-1 first-leg loss, and they did it in spectacular fashion and were already 3-0 up away from home, only for Modric to provide the ball of the night for Rodrygo to level things up on aggregate.
At a point in the game, Kante gave the ball away in the lead up to the incident and when Benzema scored the winner it was the former Leicester City man who was late to close down a loose ball in midfield in the build-up.
Rudiger, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, focused on the mistakes his team made over the two legs.
He told BT Sport:
"Over the two legs if you make these kinds of mistakes you get punished.
"It was a do or die for us. Before the game not everybody thought we could get to 3-0 but then the individual class comes to light with Modric and Benzema, now we are here.
