Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has snubbed his own teammates to name Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah as the best player in the Premier League this year.

Pulisic, who is currently in his third year in the English topflight reckons Salah is easily in a class above the rest after a record-breaking run of form with the Reds.

The Egyptian has scored a mouthwatering 22 goals in just 24 matches this season to help Liverpool keep pace with league leaders, Man City, and cruise into the Champions League knockout stages.

And when asked to name the best player in the EPL this season, Pulisic admitted teammates Jorginho and N'Golo Kante have been incredible - but none beats Salah.

"I think if you’re looking at our team there’s been some incredible performances, you look at Jorginho and N’Golo [Kante]. But it’s hard to argue you with [Mohamed] Salah and what he’s accomplished. He’s a top guy too," Pulisic told Amazon Prime.

While naming the best player he has faced in the EPL, the USA international singled out Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

"It’s hard to argue against Cristiano Ronaldo but there’s a lot of top players. He’s one of the best to do it but there’s so many," he added.

Pulisic also took time to reflect on Thomas Tuchel's spell at Stamford Bridge following their reunion in January 2021 after Frank Lampard was shown the door.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Liverpool face the prospect of playing Chelsea without Andy Robertson whose Premier League suspension is set to stretch until the new year.

Robertson was handed a three-match ban after he picked a red card against Tottenham last weekend.

The Scottish has already served a ban in one match, having missed his side's thrilling comeback win over Leicester.
