Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has returned to Germany to say a proper farewell his former Bayern Munich colleagues, executives and the rest of the club’s personnel.

Players of the La Liga club have been given a couple of days off after they returned from the trip to the United States, and the Pole used his short holiday to make one final stop at Allianz Arena.

Lewandowski used the chance to have a proper send-off ceremony at his former stomping grounds and to mend sour relationships with the hierarchy of the Bundesliga giants due to the ugly way in which his exit happened.

The Poland captain drove to the Allianz Arena and took farewell photos with the trophies he won at Bayern.

Lewandowski won 8 Bundesliga titles in his 8 years with Bayern Munich and is the German club’s second all-time goal scorer behind Germany legend, Gerd Mulller.

Meanwhile, fans of Bayern Munich have still not forgiven Robert Lewandowski after the Poland striker forced a move away from the club to join Barcelona this summer.

The 33-year-old ended his 8-year relationship with the Bundesliga champions this summer, much to the frustration of many of the club’s fans.

According to Football Espana, Lewandowski was met with fans chanting “Hala Madrid” when he returned to the club following his return to Germany after Barcelona’s preseason tour in the USA.

Bayern Munich ready to move on from Lewandowski era

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Bayern Munich will not be getting another striker to replace Robert Lewandowski this summer following the 33-year-old’s summer exit to Barcelona.

The Bundesliga champions had acquired Sadio Mane from Liverpool and the Senegalese forward is expected to lead the line for the Bavarians this season.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has now confirmed that the club will not sign another striker this summer despite being linked with several top talents.
