Barcelona failed to unveil Robert Lewandowski to the club’s fans on Monday, July 18, as announced by club officials after completing the signing of the forward.

The 33-year-old joined the Blaugrana over the weekend after Barcelona reached an agreement with Bayern Munich and the Poland forward has since completed his medicals with the Spanish giants.

According to Football Espana, Lewandowski was expected to be officially presented as a new Barcelona player in a press conference at 7 pm Spanish time, but the occasion had to be postponed.

Club sources blamed the setback on timing more than anything, but the striker is expected to train with the rest of the Barcelona squad ahead of their preseason friendly against Inter Miami.

Barcelona will take on Inter Miami in the early hours of Wednesday morning as the Catalan giants kickstart their preseason tour of the United States.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is still receiving lots of praise after their signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, who joined the Catalan giants on a three-year deal.

According to Barca Universal, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has put rivalry aside as he has reached out to Barcelona to congratulate the Blaugrana on the signing of Lewandowski.

Barcelona had paid €50 million, including add-ons, to sign the 33-year-old, who has since joined the rest of the squad in the United States for the club’s preseason tour.

Lewandowski regrets ugly feud with Bayern Munich

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Robert Lewandowski is hoping his relationship with Bayern Munich can be amended after leaving the Bundesliga champions in controversial circumstances.

The 33-year-old joined Barcelona after the La Liga club agreed to pay Bayern Munich’s asking price of €45 million following the striker’s insistence on wanting to leave the Bundesliga champions.

Lewandowski has now revealed he hopes to swiftly move past the dispute which marred his final days at Bayern Munich this summer.
