Fans of Bayern Munich have still not forgiven Robert Lewandowski after the Poland striker forced a move away from the club to join Barcelona this summer.

The 33-year-old ended his 8-year relationship with the Bundesliga champions this summer, much to the frustration of many of the club’s fans.

According to Football Espana, Lewandowski was met with fans chanting “Hala Madrid” when he returned to the club following his return to Germany after Barcelona’s preseason tour in the USA.

The Poland forward had returned to Bayern Munich’s offices in Germany in order to say farewell to his former colleagues and also to collect some of the properties he had left behind.

Lewandowski is the second all-time goal scorer for Bayern Munich behind German legend, Gerd Muller and won a total of 8 Bundesliga titles with the German champions.

Lewandowski could break 13-year old record on his Barcelona presentation

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski could enter the record books at Barcelona when he is presented to the club’s fans this Friday, August 5.

According to Barca Universal, Lewandowski’s presentation is expected to attract over 60,000 Barcelona fans in attendance at the Camp Nou to witness the spectacle.

Barcelona’s all-time record sits with the former striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who drew 60,000 spectators following his sensational move from Inter Milan back in 2009.

Lewandowski returns to Bayern Munich for proper send off ceremony

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Robert Lewandowski has flown back to Munich to officially say goodbye to his Bayern teammates after signing for Barcelona.

The Polish striker’s run at the Allianz Arena didn’t end on the best of notes as he asked to leave at the end of last season.

The Bundesliga giants were reluctant to sell but eventually agreed on a deal with Barcelona, penning a 3-year contract thereby ending his 8-year relationship with Bayern.
