Senegal winger Sadio Mane is on his way to Morocco for the CAF Football Awards tonight just few hours after netting his debut goal for German giants Bayern Munich in a friendly against MLS side DC United.

Mane has been given permission by the Bundesliga champions to leave camp and attend the continent's biggest sports award show.

In a video posted on social media, the winger revealed he was on his way to Rabat for the ceremony.

Sadio Mane remains favourite to win the top individual gong following his outstanding display last season for Liverpool, where he helped the English giants win the double. He starred in the victories against Chelsea in both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup finals.

He also inspired Senegal to a historic Africa Cup of Nations success after scoring the winning penalty against Egypt.

Mane battle compatriot and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and former teammate Mohamed Salah for the award.
