The former Juventus midfielder remains on a list of 11 players up for sale in the coming weeks, but his flexibility over wages could change his role.

Miralem Pjanic still has two years left to run on his current contract although it remains to be seen if he will be retained by Barcelona when the season kicks off.

Ex Barcelona defender key in Marcos Alonso deal

Meanwhile, former Barcelona academy product, Marc Cucurella could determine the Catalan’s chances of signing Chelsea defender, Marcos Alonso this summer.

According to Barca Universal, if Chelsea signs Cucurella, it would clear the path for Barcelona to make a move for Alonso and successfully sign him from the Premier League side.

The Blues are already in talks with Brighton about a potential deal and may be prepared to offer a player in exchange as well as money to beat Manchester City to his signature.
