The Gunners were scheduled to host Wolves at the Emirates on Tuesday, December 28, in the early kick-off.

However, Wolves have reached an agreement with the Premier League to have the encounter pushed forward due to a combination of injuries and Covid cases within their squad.

"A combination of positive Covid-19 test results and injuries led to Wolves requesting for the fixture to be postponed, which was accepted early to give supporters a two-day notice period," Wolves announced in a statement.
"The Board was able to make its decision in advance of the fixture to give clarity to the affected clubs and their fans. We apologise for the inconvenience and disruption caused to supporters’ festive plans," the club added.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had earlier expressed concerns about his side having to play Wolves less than 48 hours after their meeting with Norwich City.

"But we will push and we will go there to try and recover as good as we can, play as good as we can and prepare for the game to win it," Arteta told Sky Sports.

Arsenal hammer Norwich 5-0

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal staged a five-star performance during their trip to Carrow Road on Boxing Day as they hammered Norwich City 5-0.

Bukayo Saka was the man of the moment as he and Martin Odegaard shone for the north Londoners away from home.

Saka netted a stunning brace to inspire his side to victory, with Kieran Tierney, Alexander Lacazette, and Emile Smith Rowe also getting their names on the scoresheet.

The comfortable win cemented Arsenal's place in the top four as they now sit fourth on the log with 35 points.

On their part, Norwich remain bottom of the table with just 10 points and now face the prospect of getting relegated.
