Former Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte, could be a major factor spurring Victor Osimhen's move to English Premier League side Chelsea in the summer.

Napoli is still searching for a new manager after parting ways with Rudi Garcia and Walter Mazzarri earlier this season.

The Parthenopeans' Serie A title defence failed after Luciano Spalletti decided to leave the club for the Italian national team.

Napoli is on the verge of missing out on European competition next season. They presently languish in 9th place with 51 points, two points behind Fiorentina, who occupy the Europa Conference League spot.

Conte is reportedly leading the race to become Napoli's new manager, which could be a significant move for Chelsea to sign Osimhen in the summer officially.

How Conte's appointment can help Chelsea sign Osimhen

Napoli are reportedly not ready to listen to offers below Osimhen's €130 million price tag, but Chelsea are not willing to pay such amount for the Nigerian striker.

According to a report by Soccernet, the Blues are willing to offer Romelu Lukaku, who's on loan at AS Roma, plus €90 million and an unnamed player for the Super Eagles star.

Conte has always loved the idea of working with Lukaku, as they achieved success together during their time with Inter Milan. If he's appointed the Parthenopeans' new boss, it could pave the way for Chelsea to achieve their transfer target.

Another report, as per Gazzetta Dello Sport, claimed that Napoli loved the idea of replacing Osimhen with Lukaku and could give in to the Blues' offer.

Osimhen among Napoli’s greatest strikers

Sports Brief also previously reported that in Osimhen's four seasons with Napoli, he scored 76 goals and made 18 assists in 131 appearances, placing him 13th on the club's list of all-time scorers.

The late great Argentine World Cup winner, Diego Maradona, scored 115 goals in 257 appearances for the former Serie A champions and is, without a doubt, the best player to wear the club's crest.
