A heartwarming video of Queen Elizabeth II meeting Arsenal players has popped up on social media following her demise.

The longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, passed on today, September 8, 2022 at the age of 96.

In a video posted on social media, the Queen hosted the Arsenal team in 2007 following their exploits that year.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry led a team that had the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and William Gallas to the Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II, rumoured to be an Arsenal fan, welcomed the players as Henry introduced her to the playing body.

On Thursday, September 8, a statement from the Royal Family read the Queen had passed on peacefully at Balmoral.

"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow," Buckingham Palace said as quoted by Sky Sports.

Queen Elizabeth II was a rumoured Arsenal fan

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Queen Elizabeth's passing has rekindled fond memories that she shared with Premier League giants Arsenal FC.

It was widely believed that Her Royalty was an Arsenal fan. There were also rumours of her having a soft spot for another London team, West Ham United.

Like other Royalties, the Queen never revealed her true team. She, however, hosted Arsenal at Buckingham Palace in 2007.

United Kingdom's longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, has died.

The Royal Majesty passed on at Balmoral Castle aged 96, after reigning for 70 years, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The family of the Queen gathered at her Scottish estate after concerns grew about her health earlier on Thursday and her death was announced later in the day.
