  • William Saliba could not help but laugh at the 'old' head of his 24-year-old Arsenal teammate Gabriel Magalhães
  • The pair have played an integral role in Arsenal's perfect start to the season - winning all five matches in the Premier League
  • Their partnership will have to pass the acid test against a resurgent Manchester United when Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday, September 4

Arsenal defender William Saliba has been sighted making a mockery of the head of his teammate and centre-back partner Gabriel Magalhães.

Saliba and Gabriel have formed a water-tight partnership in the heart of Arsenal's defence, which has seen the Gunners equal their best start to a Premier League season.

Their bond at the back has ensured Arsenal have the joint best defensive record in the Premier League - underlining their importance to the club's push for a Champions League spot.

Recently, Saliba took aim at his centre-back partner's seemingly 'old head.'

According to the French defender, who is having a breakthrough season after spending three seasons away from the club on loan, Gabriel's head gives an impression of an 'old' player contrary to his young personality.

"Yeah, he’s a very good guy. He’s young but with his head, he looks old but he’s still young and a really good guy. We are a good defence, we’re all friends and I hope we’ll keep going like this." Saliba said in a post-match interview after Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the season.

Arsenal fans chant new song for defender William Saliba in easy win against Bournemouth

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that supporters of Arsenal were on cloud nine as the north London outfit cruised to a comfortable victory over newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, August 20.

A first-half brace from skipper Martin Odegaard and a wonderful strike from centre-half William Saliba handed Mikel Arteta's charges all three points - their third successive win of the season.

But the key highlight of the fixture was when the away section at the Vitality Stadium decided to lift the roof of the stadium with a well-rehearsed song for their French defender Saliba.
