According to the Daily Mail, Arteta's address came after the Gunners' difficult start to last season that had seen them lose three of their opening three Premier League games.

The publication adds that Arsenal rediscovered their form following the manager's speech, winning three games in a row and were unbeaten for eight games.

What Mikel Arteta told his players in the dressing room

In his address, the former midfielder opened up about a heart condition he suffered as a child as he described the club as 'another family.'

“Believe in yourselves, I do. You’re really good. The last thing I want to do as a coach is blame any of you in difficult moments," he said.

Arteta went on to reveal how his team's poor run had affected him on a personal level.

"After Man City, I had fear, I had insecurity, I had the media that is killing me," he noted.

Incredibly, Arsenal managed to recover well from their catastrophic start to the campaign.

However, they faltered once again towards the end of the season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
