English Premier League club Arsenal have confirmed that they have offered Eddie Nketiah a new contract ahead of the start of next season.

Nketiah is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season but his performances this year have encouraged the Gunners to keep hold of him.

He ended the season strongly with five goals in his last seven Premier League games as the Gunners fell short in their bid to secure Champions League qualification.

'Our thanks and best wishes go out to every player leaving us this month,' Arsenal wrote on their official Twitter account with a link to a list of their out of contract players.

Unlike the others, Nketiah's name was accompanied by:

'contract offered, ongoing discussions'.

According to the Daily Mail, his new contract would be worth in the region of £100,000-per-week for five years in length.

Eddie Nketiah Close to Ghana Switch After Securing Passport

Meanwhile, Nketiah is close to sealing his nationality switch from England to Ghana before the World Cup in Qatar.

The 22-year-old has reportedly secured his Ghanaian passport as the move to represent the African giants enters its final stages.

Eddie Nketiah Enjoys Stunning Body Transformation

Sports Brief earlier reported that Eddie Nketiah is enjoying a ridiculous body transformation over recent years from a skinny youngster into a hulking Premier League striker.

As a teenager, the 22-year-old Arsenal forward was often called too skinny by his coaches.

But through the years, Nketiah went from lanky striker to powerhouse forward thanks to a strict exercise regime.
